Instant Shower Water Heater Explode And Catch Fire!

Recently I renovated my Master bedroom and the attached bathroom only. But a few days after the reno works are completed, something happened to the water heater in my common bathroom yesterday morning.

While my mum was taking a shower, the instant water heater suddenly exploded and there were 2 loud "POP" sound. Then it was followed by a small fire burning inside the heater. There were strong burning smell but luckily the fire extinguished by itself after 20 seconds.

It was extremely fortunate that my mum was not hurt in this incident, but it was definitely life-threatening. She could have lost her life through electrical shock or could have been hurt by the fire or explosion.

I am very upset about what happened and certainly want to find out the cause of it.  I am wondering is it due to a faulty heater itself, or is it poor installation workmanship. This water heater is only 1 year old, so it cannot be due to natural wear and tear. In any case, even when a heater is too old it should not explode and catch fire. It should just break down and stop working thats all. My previous heater worked fine for 8 years even when i replaced it with this one. I am also wondering could it be due to the reno works done recently. But it should not be because I didnt do anything to the common bathroom. Anyway I already tried calling up the manufacturer today but they are closed on weekend. Got to try again on Monday.

Is there any organisation or government body that i should report this incident to? I am thinking maybe SPRING or CASE? Please don't tell me Lianhe Wanbao ok!

Champions League Final!

Today is the Final! Repeat of 2005 epic AC Milan vs Liverpool!

I was chatting with Terrence about who will win, and both of us feel that Milan should be the favourite. And then we were wondering what odds Singapore Pools is offering. We even joked that if the odds are good, we should place some bets! But the problem is, how the hell are we suppose to find a Singapore Pools outlet in Japan!? Then Terrence said " I think.....we can bet online leh..." I said " cannot lah! in Singapore online soccer betting is illegal lah!"  Again he said " .....but i remember there is a way leh...."

So last night we check out the Singapore Pools website. And I was right, Singapore Pools dont accept online bets. But, I was surprised that now there is a Call betting system call Poolzconnect! wah kau...we can place a bet just by making a call! And after assigning a bank, our bets and winnings will be debited or credited automatically from the bank! No need to queue! Can bet up till 5 min before match start! No need worry betting shop close! wah......Spore Pools is really putting up a good fight against the kopitiam bookies!

Last year I told ah yan that there is a Mega Big Mac here in Japan's Mac Donald. Now its back again and I managed to take a picture of the poster!

There you have it....4 slices of beef patty.....The Mega MAC!!! But I didnt try it....I'd rather stick to my all time favourite "Darberu Cheesebarger"!

On another note, I watched many trailers at apple.com last night. And theres one movie that I definitely want to catch......

Watched this 11-episode Jap drama "Densha Otoko" last week. Very nice!
